A condensed typeface is useful when packing a lot of information into a limited amount of space without compromising legibility and readability. Thanks to its design versatility, it is useful not only for food product ingredient information, instructions on packages, leaflets, book’s bellyband, and web banners, but also for giving an accent to headlines, taglines, and body text. UD Shin Go Condensed is developed based on the UD Shin Go sans serif type as a solution to the problem of stroke distortions resulting from horizontal scaling. The weights of the vertical and horizontal strokes and the structural balance are optimized to effectively display more information even in a limited space.
