Blackletter Gothic scripts fascinate me as a great achievement of the Medieval culture.
As a calligrapher, I spent years gathering books and manuscripts to learn about the genuine letterforms and rules of European Gothic scripts. Rotunda, a less angular and dark variation of the classic Blackletter originated in XIII century Italy. Now, I made it into a proper modern typeface — Ronna Gothic. It allows anyone to experience its Gothic heritage while still keeping the authentic look.
This is completely unique, handmade Rotunda Gorhic font the way it's supposed to look with a few additional modern elements to make it legible for contemporary viewer.
It's an ideal style to make tattoo sketches, logotypes, street signs and book covers. Ronna easy to read yet it still preserves that dark Blackletter feel to it.
