Falcon Casual™ is an exciting original blackletter script, loosely based on the style of lettering commonly found on retro packaging of the 1950s and '60s.

GETTING THOSE TAILS OUT OF THE WAY
The letters j and y have tails which overlap with some letters. So as not to detract from the character outlines, we allowed these overlaps because in cases where there are no overlaps, the letter combinations look great. We suggest that you apply a baseline shift in those rare cases where the overlaps do not look pleasant. The following combinations require a baseline shift of the y character:

dy
my

SETTING TEXT IN UPPERCASE
In the Falcon™ fonts, many words look fantastic when set in uppercase characters, while others don't look quite so dandy. In some cases, some of the uppercase letters will overlap with eachother, and you may find that certain words are more pleasing if you apply a baseline shift to one of the overlapping letters in order to break apart the overlap.

EXTRA SPACE SOMETIMES REQUIRED
Because we suspect that most users will find use for both the upper and lowercase letters together, the fonts have been spaced so that the upper and lowercase combinations set nicely with very little kerning applied. In order for the uppercase letters to look good when text is set in uppercase only, excessive kerning was applied to the uppercase combinations, which means that they might look too tight when viewed in an application which does not support kerning. Furthermore, because of this tightness, setting type in uppercase letters only may sometimes require the setting of 2 spaces between certain words in order to create a wide enough gap between them.

LIGATURE REPLACEMENTS
In order to improve the look of a couple of the uppercase character combinations, we created an "ED" and "EF" ligature (available to Mac users in the "fi" and "fl" ligature character slots). These extra characters are unavailable to PC users without the aid of special software which can allow access to the full character set.
