Filth AOE was developed from a magazine layout I'd seen featuring Anton LaVey which had his brush lettering depicted as well. Fascinated with the dark and eerie feeling of his brush handwriting style, I decided to recreate and expand what I saw into a typeface. And so it came to be.
Some designs are meant to be clean, other need to be dirty, Filth is waiting for you to find it.

I've said before that one of my guilty pleasures is taking time to recreate historical typefaces, but it is more than just that. I find great excitement in recreating any style of lettering that is unfinished or limited in any way, and seeing if it can be made into a typeable font. While some of these typefaces may have more niché uses than modern typefaces, I recreate them because they draw me to them for various reasons, and I hope they will draw you to them as well.
