FOREMAN was a project with the intent of creating a font that was useful, aesthetically appealing, and rightly reflected its multiple influences. FOREMAN was influenced by the great condensed gothic typefaces, as well as the bleak post-war propaganda posters of the late 1940′s. FOREMAN was also stylized in admiration of advertising typesets seen in the old parts of Seattle and Tacoma, Washington, where Glasshouse is based. FOREMAN is hardworking and industrial, a blue collar display face without serifs or slabs. It contains 58 characters, each of which is hand crafted to evoke the spirit of the common man’s work ethic, comrade. Also, reddit likes it. Let’s build something.
