Guide was designed by Elliott Amblard and published by Indian Type Foundry. Guide contains 8 styles and family package options.
Guide is a humanist sans for use on traffic signs and wayfinding systems. The family's four weights range from Regular to Bold and each has a companion italic. Guide's italics have an 11° angle; the forms of the 'a', 'b', 'e', and 'p' are more dynamic in the italic fonts, like 'true italic' letters. Each font includes 20 arrow glyphs. The tops of Guide's uppercase letters and numerals align at the same height; the ascenders rise slightly above this. Guide's lowercase letters have a large x-height and prominent diacritical marks. Each font includes an alternate single-story 'g' and smaller versions of the default arrows in two stylistic sets. There is also a contextual alternates feature that substitutes a shortened 'f' before letters with ascenders.
