A display typeface rooted in Wales, born of the desire for a Welsh font that fuses Celtic stylings with a modern serif flair.
Hiraeth is the Welsh concept of an intense longing for a place that that cannot be returned to. This concept inspired the creation of this typeface, taking elements of Celtic styles and ancient Welsh texts, and fusing it all with a dark modern serif flavour.
This font has been created with the Welsh language in mind, featuring characters that are rarely found in fonts, including 24 Welsh digraphs (characters in the Welsh alphabet which combine two letters) and accented letters commonly found in the Welsh language. But it’s not just limited to Welsh, as it features a full latin character set with uppercase and lowercase characters, additional accented Slavic characters (ć, č, š, đ, ž) along with 49 alternate uppercase glyphs which you can use to switch up the style.
Ideal for fantasy- or Celtic-themed projects, or anything with a dark mysterious vibe, and works perfectly for titles, logos, or prominent text that needs a particular Celtic mood.
