Introducing Joe Underwood, an aged typewriter-style serif font for creative types.
The Underwood typewriter has been described as “the first truly modern typewriter”. Two million had been sold by the early 1920s, and its sales “were equal in quantity to all of the other firms in the typewriter industry combined”.
This Joe Underwood font was digitally recreated from a 1928 Underwood typewriter which had 43 character buttons. Several characters were added to merge antique types into the modern world of digital fonts.
