Flash was designed by Edwin W. Shaar and cut for the Lanston Monotype Machine Company in 1939. This brush script face is what Comic Sans should be: a casual hand-rendered lettering design that evokes a friendly attitude. Perfect for supermarket signs exclaiming "Green Beans 59¢ / Lb." or for non-threatening office memos or any other place...you might otherwise think about using Comic Sans!
