Designed by Frederic W. Goudy,
LTC Powell is a serif font family. This typeface has two styles and was published by P22 Type Foundry.
Frederic Goudy designed Powell for a “Mr. Powell” of the Mandel Brothers Chicago department store in 1907. This face bears resemblance to Pabst but with a larger lowercase and shorter descenders. This face resembles the copy of Goudy hand lettering released by Inland Foundry in 1902. The naming of the font Hearst (P22 Kane) was the cause of some controversy. Powell was Goudy’s reclaiming of his own lettering design. The italic was designed by the Lanston Drawing office.
