There are few fonts that are more versatile than Typewriter fonts. From modern minimal branding, to dark and gritty posters, a typewriter font can effectively do it all. So, say hello to Merchant Ledger.
Developed from authentic typewriter hammer keys, I have created two main styles (clean and rough), each in two weights (regular and thin). The result being a small family of remarkably versatility.
The clean style works perfectly for branding projects, creating corporate or even wedding stationery, print layouts for books, brochures and magazines, and branded social media posts. All while capturing a sharp, contemporary feel, without looking cold and sterile. The rough style is a little like the 'rebel' of the family, full of character and a little rough around the edges...ideal for movie or game posters and graphics, through to more rustic logo design, to organic and vintage branding and packaging.
Personality
By capturing the subtle nuances and imperfections of the hammer keys, Merchant Ledger retains all the honesty of the real machine; slightly misaligned characters and baselines create authenticity, without sacrificing legibility and functionality.
Alternates Included
Rough and Rough Thin both come with full alphabetic alternates in upper and lowercase, depicting where the keys are blocked with ink, creating broken shapes that remove boring repetition and add even more personality and authenticity.
