Modernista FONT Download

Modernista is a art nouveau font family. This typeface has three styles and was published by Wiescher-Design.

Art Nouveau happened over Europe under different names.

They called it “Jugenstil” in Germany, “Le style moderne” in France, “Sezessionsstil” in Austria and Eastern Europe, “Stile Liberty” in Italy and “Modernista” in Spain. Jugendstil in Germany is what started modern design and eventually led to the Bauhaus era. Art Nouveau is the most widely used name for this crazy period in our days.
I always wanted to design my own Jugendstil typeface, but didn’t really get around doing it. Finally I found a set of initials by the German designer Peter Schnorr (1898) that I liked very much. I thought these elegant lightweight initials should be saved for the future and added two weights to it, the bold and the heavy.

I chose the name “Modernista”, because it describes this modernistic typeface and is reminiscent to the era. Now I offer the tripleset of initials for the price of one.
