シーダとは「杉」のことです。空に向かって直線的に伸びていく大らかさと、何百年もの樹齢を重ねた奥行きをイメージした書体です。シーダは懐を最大限に広げ、できるだけ大きく見えるようにしています。また背勢表現（縦棒や横線の両端につけるラッパ状のアクセント）をなくし、スッキリとした現代風の書体にデザインしています。シーダファミリーは、その抜群の可視性から印刷物はもとよりテレビテロップやゲーム、Webコンテンツにおいても頻繁に使用されています。
