Spanning from the Golden Age of Piracy in the 1700s to the 1800s formal years of stock certificates and hand lettered currency notes, onceGuilded 1918 is a victorian Font, a steampunk visage, a letterform that ebbs and flows through time. A stalwart of the Guilded Age that signified authoritative information sources, a key style for official documents, a look that was hand drawn or inked via letterpress.
The Guilded Age was a time that huge fortunes were made and lost (and kept to this day).
The height of the Guilded Age: 1870-1900. It continues after this but the public displays of opulence are ended by the realities of the WW1 era: 1914-1921.
And so…onceGuilded visuals are golden but faded, lasting but tarnished, forgotten but never truly lost as the appreciation of steampunk never goes away. After all, people will always have a hope of finding, creating, or innovating something.
onceGuilded [makes us think of] a return to well-made, thoughtful things.
For such a time as this.
