Carter & Cone publishes the designs of Matthew Carter, including Bell Centennial, Big Caslon, Miller, and Roster, and custom type for clients like the Museum of Modern Art, The New York Times, Sports Illustrated, and Yale University. Carter also worked with Microsoft on a series of screen fonts designed to maximize the legibility of type on computer monitors. Named a Royal Designer for Industry in the UK, Carter received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Smithsonian National Design Awards in 2011.
