The “Tube Script” is an individual handwriting with a somewhat “wet” character. The pen was a tube full of color. It is easy to understand that this is not really a nice way to write. Sometimes the line is very thin and delicate, other times it’s just a fat blob that’s supposed to represent a letter, depending on how hard the tube was pressed. This creates organic forms, random effects, breaks, and smears, where normally the writer determines the form.
And so this typeface is a great match for anything organic, painterly, handmade, personal, or even random, unpredictable, or just plain natural.
Ligatures make Tube Script’s letters appear in a different form each time, depending on the combination. And more alternative character forms can be selected using the corresponding OpenType features, thus enabling even more variety in the typeface. This results in the typically restless, extremely varied impression of really individual handwriting – almost as if it was really handwritten.
