Xibalba, the Mayan word loosely translated as “A place of darkness”, is a custom hand-lettered typeface of the casual brush script variety. It works well when slightly sheared with a bit of a rise, as if written casually by hand. The added serifs on the interior of the counters give the typeface a modern urban feel but the letter forms are also narrow enough that it can come across as elegant as well.
