Yu-Mincho was developed around the key concept of “Creating a typeface for composing novels.” Hardback and paperback novels are the target use.
Yu-Mincho combines modern style kanji (ideographic) characters with consistent visual sizes and standard traditional kana characters, which is rarely seen in other typefaces.
